We Are Magic

Kathy is descended from a line of ‘Listeners’. These are women bonded to a specific creature, their acolyte, who gives them the ability to speak with animals. Her mother’s acolyte has been trained to be a Hollywood film star and supports the family through America’s Great Depression. Kathy’s acolyte is her cat Frank, who can’t be trained to do anything. Set in the mid-20th century, We Are Magic travels from California to Ireland, with many stops in between. We follow Kathy as Frank teaches her how to make the world a better place for cats.
