About the Author

I wrote my first novel when I was nine. Too bad my atrocious handwriting made it impossible to read. Since then, I have been writing poetry, short stories, technical articles, a textbook on veterinary dermatology and finally, my novels. My first three novels are a mix of historical fiction and magical realism. While all three reflect the period the characters are living in, the main characters have the special skill of animal communication. The idea for these books grew from my own desire to understand both my own pets and those I work with. As a veterinary nurse for over thirty years, there have been many special creatures who spoke to me. I hope I have given them a voice in my novels.
