Five Reasons to do a boudoir photo shoot

Stripping down for photos shouldn’t be as taboo as it sounds.

Was this window cold? Yes, yes it was.
Did the photo turn out hot? Hell yes!

If you don’t know what boudoir (pronounced: BOOD-WAH) photography is and my title photo left you still wondering, it’s an experience to strip down to your skivvies while a reputable professional photographer snaps away.

So, if you’ve been on the edge about doing a boudoir photo shoot I highly suggest taking the leap and doing it.  I know a lot of people think they could never have the confidence to do it, maybe you continually give yourself the age-old excuse “I just don’t think I have the body for it.” Well, let me tell you unless you’re a vampire or ghost you most definitely have the body for this kind of photo shoot (apologies to all paranormal beings who don’t show up in mirrors and photographs).

However, if you feel you need a little more convincing, please read continue reading for my top five reasons to get your cute butt to a boudoir photographer. Also, by the off chance I DID persuade you, you are also welcome -and encouraged- to read on.

Who really wants to wear them anyways? If I’ve seen one theme across memes and tweets is no one is a fan of pants.

Pun definitely intended

Would you want to wear a cute shorts and top full pajama set? It’s gonna look sexy. Or are you thinking full nude adventurous? It’s gonna look sexy. Comfort is key! Wear whatever the hell you want, your photographer will help you work it no matter what you are or are not wearing. Here is where I emphasize reputable and professional as they have the experience to help calm your nerves and produce amazing images of your sexy self. It may be a bit of an investment, but if you google/craigslist the least expensive photographer you’ll end up with low quality images and service. Plus, if true crime shows have taught us anything that’s how bitches get got.

All these images were taken post marital split and hearing some hurtful things where I didn’t feel sexy, or really confident in any way. However, after hanging out with Lauren of Laurel Tree Photography AND THEN getting my gallery, my mind was blown! Like, I looked at all the images she produced and all I could think was “Psh, I’m cute as f*ck- no one can tell me shit!”

Life is short and not every day is a super fantastic day. Whenever I have a bad day I look at a few of these images and I remind myself: during one of my darkest times I took a chance and investment into myself and walked away with a happy heart. It’s not just the confidence boost I remember it’s the memory of me walking forward to enjoy life fully no matter what I had been told or thought before. Life is too short to not choose kindness for myself however I may choose to show it to myself. Also, tie-back to reason number one life’s too short to wear pants all the time.

That’s it, nothing extra to add. It’s just fun as all get out.

Did I Do It?!

I’ve tried my best to convince you, did it help?  If I did, are you now wondering who you should book a session with? Lauren is awesome, she lives in the Quad Cities and is actually originally from DeWitt (whoop whoop for locals!). If you’ve done a boudoir session who was your photographer? Comment with their website below and lets get them some sessions booked!
